Garden sprinkler installation in Chennai helps lawns and large planted areas get even, regular water without hours of hand watering. Win Landscape has designed and installed irrigation as part of complete landscapes across Chennai since 2002, and we plan each sprinkler system around your garden layout, water source and the local climate.
Chennai summers are long and hot, water supply can be limited, and the northeast monsoon from October to December brings heavy rain. A good sprinkler system delivers the right amount of water in the right places, wastes as little as possible and can be paused when the rain arrives. If you are deciding between systems, our comparison of drip vs sprinkler irrigation in Chennai explains where each works best. This page explains our sprinkler installation scope.
Different parts of a garden need different heads. Choosing the right type for each area is the key to even coverage.
Pop-up spray heads sit flush with the lawn when off and rise when the water comes on. They spray a fixed fan of water over short distances, which suits small and medium lawns, narrow strips and curved edges. Because they stay hidden, they do not get in the way of mowing or play.
Rotary heads send out rotating streams of water over a larger radius. They apply water more slowly, which lets it soak into clay soils instead of running off. They suit larger lawns in villas, institutions, hotels and commercial landscapes.
For dense ground covers and mixed planting, fixed spray heads on risers can be useful. In many cases, though, beds are better served by drip, which we explain below.
A well-designed system is divided into zones. Each zone groups areas with similar water needs and sun exposure, and uses heads of the same type so that they apply water at a similar rate. Sunny lawns, shaded lawns and planted beds are usually separate zones.
We design head spacing for head-to-head coverage, where the spray from each head reaches the next one. This avoids dry patches and green-and-brown stripes. We also adjust arcs and throws to keep water off walls, windows, paving and driveways. For new lawns, we plan the sprinkler layout before the turf goes down. Our lawn installation in Chennai service can be combined with irrigation in one project.
Most Chennai homes and properties draw garden water from a sump, an overhead tank or a borewell. Each source affects the design.
We measure pressure and flow at the site visit. This tells us how many heads each zone can run and whether a pump or filter is required.
Pipes are laid in trenches at a suitable depth to protect them from foot traffic, mowers and garden work. We use quality fittings, isolation valves for each zone, and drain points where useful. Zone valves are housed in valve boxes for easy access.
A timer or controller runs each zone automatically. We set run times based on the head type, soil and season, and recommend early morning watering to reduce evaporation. Simple battery timers suit small gardens, while multi-zone controllers suit larger properties. We show you how to change schedules for summer and the monsoon.
Sprinklers are ideal for lawns, but they are not the best choice for every area. Spraying water over shrubs and flower beds wastes water through evaporation and can encourage fungal problems on leaves in our humid climate. For beds, hedges, planters and trees, we often add drip lines on separate zones from the same controller. Read more about drip irrigation in Chennai to see how the two systems work together.
Chennai does not need winterising, but it does need a plan for the monsoon. During the northeast monsoon there may be weeks when the garden needs no extra water at all. We set up the controller so that it can be paused easily, and where suitable we fit a rain sensor that stops the system automatically after significant rain. This saves water, protects lawns from waterlogging and reduces fungal disease. The monsoon of South Asia pattern means schedules should change with the season, and we help you plan those changes.
Regular servicing keeps a sprinkler system efficient. Typical tasks include cleaning nozzles and filters, raising or straightening heads that have sunk or tilted, fixing leaks, checking valves and updating controller schedules for the season. A check before summer and after the monsoon is a sensible routine. Our garden maintenance services in Chennai can include irrigation checks.
We do not publish fixed prices. Cost depends on the area to be covered, the number of zones and heads, the type of heads, pipe lengths, the controller, whether a pump, filter or rain sensor is needed, and whether drip is added for beds. After a free site visit we share a clear quote. To book, get a free quote or call +91 94448 64732.

Automatic early-morning schedules you can change by season.
Monsoon pause and rain sensors to avoid overwatering.

Sprinklers suit lawns, while drip suits beds, hedges, planters and trees. Many gardens use both on separate zones from one controller.
Usually yes. We measure pressure and flow at the site visit and advise if a pump, booster or filter is needed.
Cost depends on area, zones, head types, pipe lengths, controller and any pump, filter or rain sensor. We do not quote fixed prices; we offer a free site visit and share a clear quote afterwards.
We set the controller so it can be paused easily, and can fit a rain sensor that stops watering automatically after heavy rain.
